Mr. Boat Finder "We Know Boats"

Mr. Boat Finder started as a family hobby with a Dad and his boys wanting to know all they could about boats.  We are boat owners, go to boat shows, read boating magazines and try to "talk boats" all the time.  We're a bit obsessed with boats - and proud of it!

After years of helping friends learn about boats and then purchase their boats we decided to develop a side business doing this.  We found many people who started looking for a boat were overwhelmed with all the choices.  We also saw lots of lousy boats being sold to unsuspecting buyers.  That's how we developed the model of "educate first" that we now use.

Well, it's still a hobby, but now also a business.  We're not looking to get rich doing this and it's still a "side job".  We're just trying to help pay for some of our expensive obsession - boating!

We are located in Rochester, NY near Lake Ontario and the NY Finger Lakes.  We help boat buyers locally and nationally. The kids run the web site, help search for boats online and check the email, etc.  Tom Hamilton is the owner and "chief boat finder". 

Safe Boating Saves Lives

If you are new to boating please understand although boating can be great family fun, if careless or uninformed it can be deadly.  Take a boating safety course before buying your first boat.  You'll learn the "rules of the waterways" and how to safely operate your vessel.

Drinking and boating are a bad mix!  I'm not preaching, just warning.  Boats don't have brakes.  Slow reactions and/or cloudy judgemen just don't cut it on the water.  Save the beers for the dock or cabin.  You won't spill in your nice new boat that way!

Lastly, children need to be WEARING life jackets while the boat is under way - so SHOULD adults.  Life Jackets don't do much good stored away.  The laws vary from state to state as to what ages are required to wear them - but be safe ...wear life jackets.
