We start with YOU.There are many different types of boats for different uses. Let's find out what you will be doing, what you need in a boat. The right boat for cruising on a small lake is not the same as the right boat for taking on the Great Lakes. Will your need require a lot of power or can a smaller engine do the job?
So we learn about your requirements then discuss some boats that might do the job well. This is done through emails and often a phone call or two. We get feedback from you on some different boats (usually link or photos sent to you) then narrow down what you should be looking for - boat type, new or used, engine power needed, etc.
We also discuss what to AVOID so you don't make a big buying mistake. There is lots of junk out there; you don't want to own it!
Now you KNOW what you're looking for!
Now that we know WHAT you want, we can help you find it. Through searching MANY sources, screening out likely problem boats, calling owners of the more promising ones (to find the "real story") we help find you a boat that's right for you. We can do this for both new and used boats. It just depends on what you want and need.
Once we determine a boat is worth pursuing we check it out. Note: We are NOT boat surveyors or mechanics - when we lok at the boats it's to make sure it fits your needs, NOT to determine structural or mechanical fitness. You need a certified marine mechanic and/or boat surveyor for that.
Now you KNOW what specific boat you'd like to buy!
The last step we can help in is trying to save you some $$$. We know the boat market and have a pretty good idea what a particular boat should sell for. We'll help you negotiate the price to get you a better deal. There's no charge for this part if we can't get the price down!
Now you've got yourself a boat!
